Independence Day Celebration
Historic Corolla Park
5pm – 9pm (or at the conclusion of the fireworks show)
Due to July 4 occasionally falling on a Saturday or Sunday, both extremely busy vacation rental change-over days on the Outer Banks, this event is not always held on July 4, as is the case this year. In keeping emergency management efforts and precautions top of mind with an event this size, we look forward to an amazing celebration on July 5!
What better way to celebrate America’s independence than with free live music and a spectacular firework show on the northern Outer Banks?! Join Currituck Travel & Tourism at Historic Corolla Park for our Independence Day Celebration with loads of fun family activities and food provided by local vendors. Activities begin at 5:00 pm and conclude with fireworks at dusk. Admission is free and free parking is available at the park until lots are full. Please note that no coolers, alcohol or on-street parking is permitted. The Historic Corolla Park boat ramp is closed this day with no docking allowed. Dogs are permitted on leashes.
Mark Lippard will be entertaining the crowds from 5pm – 6pm
Black & Blue Experience will perform live from 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Watermelon Eating Contest (sign-up starts at 5pm; contest begins at 6pm)
Kids’ Dance Contest at 7pm
Fireworks show will begin shortly after sundown (Sunset is scheduled for 8:25pm that evening)
