Many of you will remember the little one room Chapel that was built in 1885 across the street from the existing Chapel. It would only seat about 100 people and would be open for services occasionally and at one time was to be sold as a tax sale in 1962. Pastor John Strauss was persuaded to open the Chapel for full-time services in 1988. The "Little Chapel that could", was moved and affixed to its permanent location in 2002. The original Fellowship Hall was built in 2007 with the vision of a twin structure to be built as an education wing some time in the future. It is that structure we celebrate November 8, 2020, not as an education wing but a new fellowship hall and much needed kitchen. The prior existing fellowship hall now serves as our education wing. This is only a brief history with many other details, persons and events not told. Families of note are the Austin’s, the O’Brien’s, and the Mancuso’s. Needless to say, the direction and leadership of Pastor Southern and others within the Corolla Chapel have been instrumental in accomplishing the objective.
The community support of The Corolla Chapel has been overwhelming over the years and all of your contributions both financially and in so many other ways has blessed not only the Chapel but the entire Corolla community and the world.
It is our turn to say, ‘THANK YOU’ and share the vision that came true. Please join us Sunday, November 8th to meet and greet with old friends and make new ones.
Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
As we celebrate what God has done we continually look to the future. As COVID-19 restrictions persist, the Chapel is looking to upgrade its audio and video capabilities in order to better serve and reach and stay in contact with the Corolla Chapel Family all while preserving the historicity of the original sanctuary and facility. Please help us in our efforts by supporting Corolla Chapel with your prayers and your gifts. You can give online by going to www.corollachapel.com and click the donate button. Thank you in advance for your support.
