Currituck Bulls and BBQ
Saturday, November 6th, 2021, 12pm to 6pm at Currituck County Rural Center
 
Enjoy a full day of events including a KCBS BBQ Competition, People’s Choice Competition (proceeds benefit Currituck Backpack for Kids), Mechanical Bull Riding, LIVE music, Craft Market, Cornhole Tournament, local food vendors and ending the day with a Rodeo.

Rodeo Tickets:
Advanced sale tickets may be purchased until November 5th, by 4:30pm at the Moyock Welcome Center. The hours for the Welcome Center are 9:00am to 5:00pm (7 days a week) … or purchase tickets via phone by calling the Moyock Welcome Center at 252-435-2947 with your credit or debit card, tickets then can be picked up the day of the rodeo at “Will Call” beginning at 2:00pm at the rodeo ticket tent.  Tickets are limited for this event.
 
***After November 5th, 4:30pm, tickets will only be available for purchase on November 6th, at the CCRC beginning at 2:00pm***

We invite you to consider one of our several event Partnership opportunities that are currently available. Partnership monies will be earmarked for use as KCBS prizes and to cover event-related expenses, with a portion of any remaining funds being added to our donation to Currituck 4-H Backpacks 4 Kids. Blue Water Grill & Raw Bar's Annual Oyster Roast is BACK! We missed it last year and know you did too. Our roast is held on the docks at Mimi's Tiki Hut and will be on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 12-5 PM. Tickets to the All-You-Can-Eat event are $40 in advance and $45 at the door.
Oysters will be served raw and fire-roasted. If you aren't an oyster lover, a limited regular menu will be available.
We will also have live music with Q and Kerry. It's going to be a great day on the water!

Start your holiday gift shopping on the grounds of Whalehead in Historic Corolla Park. Enjoy arts and crafts, fine arts, handmade cosmetics, baked goods and other unique treasures from local artists and vendors. The 6th Annual Christmas Craft Village is a one-day show outdoor show that also includes additional fun to help get into the holiday spirit. Take in the sights of Historic Corolla Park on a free carriage ride! Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be in attendance to hear Christmas wishes and provide an opportunity for photos. There will also be food vendors for those hungry for more than a hot beverage. Ring in the holiday season in Corolla!

Whalehead's Candlelight Christmas
Friday, November 26th, 2021, 5pm to 6pm at Whalehead in Historic Corolla Park
 
 
Step back in time to the 1920’s decor and customs taking place during Mr. and Mrs. Edward Collings Knight, Jr.’s time in Corolla. The Whalehead mansion is beautifully decorated in the tradition of the times with greenery, Christmas trees, music, luscious food, fruit, candy and nuts. This special tour will feature a live performance on the original one-of-a-kind Steinway piano – custom designed for Mrs. Knight – along with a few traditional Christmas carols. Tour participants will explore this magnificent mansion including the newly designed Starkey room exhibit. Guests will also enjoy a holiday treat at the conclusion of the tour.
 
Admission is $20.00 per person and reservations are required. Tours are limited, sell out quickly and are non-refundable. For details or to reserve your tour in advance, please call 252-453-9040.

All you can eat steamed oysters are the main attraction. We'll also have steamed crabs and BBQ while they last. Of course we'll have local wine and beer sampling, live music from Formula, Of Good Nature and The Brothers Stonesifer - and a signature acrylic wineglass is yours to keep. Come spread the holiday cheer with Kitty Hawk Kites and a kites light show on Jockey’s Ridge!
Be sure to make it out on Saturday, November 27th from 4pm – 7pm for a light display like no other. Kites with Lights, at Jockey’s Ridge State Park, features large 19-to-30 foot kites decked out in the spirit of the holiday season! At 5pm, enjoy the lighting of the Jockey’s Ridge State Park Solar Christmas tree out on the dunes directly across from Jockey’s Ridge Crossing.  Warm beverages and baked goods are available across the street at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing. All donations benefit the Friends of Jockey’s Ridge. FREE ADMISSION!
