FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
About the beach:
> Where is the beach?
You may access the beach at the Currituck Beach Access, located near our south entrance. It is approximately 2 miles south of our main gate, and there is a county maintained public parking lot and bath house. This is also the location of our Trolley Stop, Beach Valet Service and Surf Shack all for your convenience.

> Do you have handicapped transportation at the beach access?
Yes! We offer transportation to the beach using our beach wheelchairs at the southern beach access. Our Beach Valet staff can provide transportation to the beach, so long as there is an accompanying person to assist. There is no fee for this service, and it is extended to all members and guests of the club.
> What do the red flags mean?
When the lifeguards have put out the red flags, it means NO SWIMMING. The beach will remain open, however, no one is permitted in the water. Trolleys will usually have notes to alert riders if the red flags happen to be flying.
About the trolleys:
> Are dogs allowed on the trolley?

Masks are not required on our trolley's.
About the golf club:
> Do we have to pay to play golf?
Yes. Everyone has to pay to play golf; however, our guests and members get a 10% discount. If you happen to be staying in the home of a member of the golf course, there are certain additional discounts available. Ask your rental agent, a staff member at the Fitness Center desk, or a staff member at the Pro Shop for more information.

Tee times can be booked through the Currituck Club golf course. They can be reached at (252) 453-9400, or tee times can be scheduled in person. The clubhouse is located across the street from our Main Pool and Fitness Center.

> Can we take sports equipment home with us and bring it back in the morning?
No, all equipment is free to use during regular business hours and at the Fitness Center facility only.

No, only the rays of the sun heat the pools, but they still provide much needed relief.

About rentals:
> How do I rent a Club cart?
You may call (252) 597-3000 for details or visit www.OBXClubCartRentals.com. Carts are for use on the streets within The Club and not on the golf course, paths or greens. Carts may be taken across Highway 12 at the crosswalk going from Old Stoney Road across to Yaupon Road. There you will find ample parking on the left going down Yaupon Road and in front of the Surf Shack. Be mindful of the rules with the carts as abuse may cause an early termination of the rental agreement.
> Are there chair/umbrella rentals at the beach?
Yes, the Surf Shack at our beach access rents out chairs and umbrellas. Additionally, they have food, drinks, and picnic tables. They can be reached at (252) 457-0072 or you can visit their website at CurrituckServices.com.
